Learning for Life Programme
Discover how our Learning for Life Programme builds leadership skills in all students through a structured, two-tier approach rooted in community involvement.
Community Youth Leadership
Our school is committed to empowering every student to grow and lead with purpose and values. Through our Learning for Life Programme (LLP), we aim to develop leadership competencies in every student, nurturing them to become forward-looking, compassionate, wise and resilient leaders who make a positive impact on their school and the wider community.
Our approach is guided by The Leadership Challenge (TLC) framework by Kouzes and Posner, which is founded on the belief that leadership is not an innate talent, but a set of observable behaviours and skills that can be learned, practised and strengthened over time.

The 5 practices of the Leadership Challenge
To meet the developmental needs of our students, the LLP adopts a progressive and age-appropriate approach. The programme is structured into two tiers:
Tier 1 – The Leadership Challenge Workshops
All Secondary 1 to 3 students will participate in workshops based on The Leadership Challenge model (TLC). These workshops are conducted with a specific focus on the Five Practices of TLC for different levels, considering age- and developmental appropriateness. Through these workshops, all students develop a deeper understanding of what it means to lead with example, and are empowered to lead with purpose, integrity and empathy to support others meaningfully, creating a positive impact in the school and community.
Tier 2 - Targeted Student Leadership Development Opportunities for Student Leaders
Student leaders are provided with progressive leadership development opportunities to deepen and sharpen their leadership competencies while serving both the school and the wider community.
Through a structured leadership development programme, they build essential skills in leadership, facilitation, project management, and restorative practices. Guided by teacher mentors, student leaders apply these competencies in authentic contexts by planning and leading school events, carrying out school duties, mentoring junior leaders, and initiating school improvement projects.
These meaningful experiences develop student agency, strengthen teamwork and communication skills, and empower student leaders to grow into forward-looking, compassionate, wise and resilient leaders.
